Weight Watchers magazine is a 132-page monthly publication with articles on health, wellbeing, emotions, nutrition, healthy cooking and exercise, alongside profiles of successful slimmers. In addition to supporting the Weight Watchers meetings business, the magazine provides a way for the company to communicate with non-members.

results
The magazine is hugely popular with readers and is also a success on the newsstand. It is the number one selling title in the women’s health category. The latest reader survey showed that 91 per cent of readers buy every issue and that just under half of readers spend more than two hours reading the issue (the average time spent reading a magazine is 47 minutes). The purchase of the magazine is a planned one for 86 per cent of respondents – showing that Weight Watchers magazine is top of mind. Not surprisingly, food is a very popular component of the magazine, with 96 per cent of readers trying the recipes it contains. Importantly, more than two-thirds of readers feel inspired after reading the magazine.

The extraordinary results achieved by Text Pacific with Weight Watchers have has resulted in the magazine’s frequency going from bi-monthly to monthly in 2009.

Gold win for Weight Watchers

Weight Watchers magazine has taken out a Gold Eddie in the 2009 Folio: Awards. Recognising editoral excellence, Weight Watchers won the award for Best Full Issue, Consumer Health/Fitness. This win places Text Pacific alongside publishing powerhouses including Time Inc, Meredith Corporation and Conde Nast.
